Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrician Mate/Improver to join our team at Latcom. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining photovoltaic (PV) solar systems in the Gloucester area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install string cables onto PV array tables
  • Terminate DC mains cables at combiner boxes and inverter stations
  • Make off MC4 connectors at panels and combiner boxes
  • Terminate communication cables (RS485, CAT5, CAT6)
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of PV solar systems according to the latest edition of BS EN and other relevant standards
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and industry standards
Requirements
  • NVQ (preferred or on route to doing)
  • ECS card (of some grading)
  • 2-3 years experience
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • Experience in commercial or industrial electrical work (solar experience is a bonus)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving license
Benefits
  • Vehicle allowance + 25p per mile or Company van and fuel card
  • Overtime will be paid, 1x3 weekend work with travel expenses + £25 per day upfront food costs, if required to stay away
