Job Summary: We are recruiting an experienced Estimator to join our Refurbishment Team at Austin Fraser. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Social Housing refurbishment projects, partnerships, and frameworks.

Estimated Salary: £60,750 per annum

Location: Kent

Sector: Social Housing Refurbishment

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a main contractor on Social Housing refurbishment projects, partnerships, and frameworks. They will be responsible for managing individual tenders up to £10m, ensuring compliance with HSE&Q standards, and developing awareness of clients' bid evaluation processes.

Responsibilities:
  1. Tender Coordination: Manage the preparation and coordination of tender documentation.
  2. Tender Planning: Effectively plan tender documentation and pricing information.
  3. Tender Preparation: Prepare tenders from architect's drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and pre-priced schedules supplied by the client.
  4. Market Awareness: Understand business development, bidding marketplaces, competitor environments, and market forces.
  5. Meeting Support: Attend meetings and assist in contract mobilisation plans and provide insights into tender details.
  6. Tender Process Management: Manage tender process to seek project prices from sub-contractors, evaluate, engage, and negotiate on price documents.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator.
  3. Software Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and keen to extend knowledge on software packages.
  4. Data Interrogation: Good data interrogation skills.
  5. Project Management: Organisation and project management skills, able to prioritise tasks.
  6. Marketing and Economics: Working knowledge of marketing and economic factors.
  7. Construction Techniques: Sound knowledge of building construction/maintenance techniques and materials.
  8. Legal Contractual Knowledge: Good legal contractual knowledge.
  9. Driving Licence: Valid driving licence.
