Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Refurbishment Team at Daniel Owen Ltd. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to utilise their expertise in managing individual tenders up to £10m and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure contractors adhere to HSE&Q standards, operating processes, company policies, and legislative requirements at all times.
  • Manage tender coordination and documentation preparation.
  • Develop awareness of clients' bid evaluation processes and procedures.
  • Evaluate and prepare tenders from architect's drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and pre-priced schedules.
  • Understand business development and market forces, including competitor environments and regional variations.
  • Attend meetings and assist in contract mobilisation plans.
  • Manage sub-contractor engagement and price negotiation.
Requirements
  • Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Quantity Surveying or Estimation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and willingness to extend software knowledge.
  • Data interrogation and organisation skills, with ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Working knowledge of marketing and economic factors.
  • Sound understanding of building construction techniques and materials.
  • Good legal/contractual knowledge.
  • Valid driving licence.
