Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Finance Leader to join our team at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in financial management, ensuring the provision of decisive and essential financial management on all strategic and operational financial and governance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the design, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing development of strategic and operational financial management arrangements.
  • Ensure efficient, effective, and consistent working practices across the function, underpinned with the correct staffing structure and reporting lines.
  • Lead a department of circa 65wte management accounting staff across Greater Glasgow and Clyde, with dotted line responsibility for circa 15 WTE management accountants based out in the HSCP's.
  • Develop and implement financial strategy, leading transformation and change, and possessing excellent people management skills and the ability to work effectively in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be a qualified accountant with current membership of a recognised professional accountancy body, with demonstrable experience in senior roles with a broad range of practical experience in the provision of a modern financial management service.

Requirements

  • Experience of developing and implementing financial strategy and leading transformation and change.
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to work effectively in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Qualification as a chartered accountant with current membership of a recognised professional accountancy body.
  • Demonstrable experience in senior roles with a broad range of practical experience in the provision of a modern financial management service.
