Job Overview

The East of England Ambulance Service is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at our Kings Lynn workshop. As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our ambulances are safe and operational, providing essential services to patients in need.

Main Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults in vehicles, ensuring that all work is completed within a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Provide a safe, effective, and efficient maintenance and repair service, adhering to MOT standards.
  • Responsible for the servicing, repair, and preventative maintenance of all vehicles maintained by the East of England Ambulance Service.
  • Participate in a rota for 24-hour service and repair callouts, working in rotation with other Mechanics.
  • Carry out MOT inspections and repairs as required, ensuring that all vehicles meet the necessary standards.

Requirements

  • C1 License category (or ability to achieve within 6 months of starting).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Extensive post-apprenticeship experience in vehicle mechanical engineering.
  • NVQ 2 in Vehicle Maintenance Repair (Light Vehicle) or equivalent experience.

Working for East of England Ambulance Service

The Fleet Department is responsible for the design, testing, and evaluation of operational vehicles, their procurement and issue to A&E Operations, the in-life compliance, service planning, and up-time management (operational life) of the vehicle, and the final decommissioning and disposal at the end of their life.
