About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patient Safety Manager to join our team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a lead role in ensuring the provision of efficient and responsive central patient safety functions and contribute to the development of the Trust approach to patient safety and the patient safety incident response framework (PSIRF).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert support and undertake patient safety incident investigations (PSIIs) as needed.
  • Lead on incident management and will also be (or will become) a patient safety specialist.
  • Support the development of a patient safety culture and safety systems.
  • Work closely with the team to identify and implement improvements to patient safety processes and procedures.

Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Clinical background/qualification.
  • Significant and demonstrable experience of working in the NHS at a senior level in relevant fields (e.g., serious incident management, PSIRF implementation).
  • Substantial experience of staff leadership and management across a range of functions.
  • Excellent strategic communication skills.
  • Ability to deal confidently and appropriately with staff at all levels of the organisation, including at a very senior level.
