We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Paediatric Radiologist to join our General Radiology Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients, including plain radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI, and CT scans.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paediatric radiology, with experience in teaching students and participating in multi-disciplinary teams. They will also have a proven track record of leading clinical audit processes and publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
The successful candidate will join a large and dynamic department, working alongside 11 other diagnostic radiologists, 1 whole-time Nuclear Medicine consultant, 6 neuroradiologists, and 6 interventional radiologists. The department supports a mix of on-site and home reporting for diagnostic consultant radiologists, with access to a full home reporting workstation.
The position will involve general paediatric radiology sessions, including reporting, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, MDT attendance, and supervision of complex CT and MRI examinations. The appointee will be required to participate in a non-resident on-call rota, with the other general radiologists, and will be expected to develop sub-specialist interests during their tenure.
Main Duties of the JobThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients, including plain radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI, and CT scans.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary teams and teaching students.
- Leading clinical audit processes and publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Developing sub-specialist interests and contributing to the department's research and development activities.

Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have:
- Full GMC Registration or evidence of eligibility for full GMC registration.
- MBBS or Equivalent.
- On specialist register for Radiology (CCT or equivalent), or within 3 months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- Accredited to and Fellow of The Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent.
The successful candidate will also have:
- Higher degree – PhD, MD or equivalent.
- Management qualification.
- Research/Publications in paediatric radiology.
