Job Overview

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Estates Grounds and Gardens team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Trust Estate.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist and support the Lead Grounds Maintenance Operative/Building Manager in undertaking day-to-day maintenance of the Hospital grounds, including grass cutting, strimming, weeding, and pruning.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, and schedules.
  • Manage your own workload on a day-to-day basis and assist other trades and contractors as needed.
  • Promote a positive image of the Estates Department and the wider Trust.

Person Specification
  • NVQ level 2 or City & Guilds certificate in Horticulture or equivalent grounds maintenance qualification OR substantial experience within a similar commercial grounds maintenance role.
  • Grounds Machinery training.
  • Approved pesticide application PA1 & PA6.
