Job Summary
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team to deliver therapeutically informed interventions for children and young people affected by domestic violence.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people presenting with emotional, behavioural and/or mental health difficulties and be able to develop relationships with professionals across organisations to enhance the emotional, mental health and wellbeing offer.
The post holder will deliver one-to-one sessions/group work to ensure that boys and young men who have witnessed DV/A receive support, information, and services to meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one sessions and group work to support children and young people affected by domestic violence.
- Develop relationships with professionals across organisations to enhance the emotional, mental health and wellbeing offer.
- Work closely with other staff members to provide a comprehensive service to children and young people.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions with children and young people.
Requirements
- Substantial relevant experience in working with children and young people at risk from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience of advice and advocacy work with vulnerable people.
- Prior experience of working with children and young people presenting with emotional, behavioural and/or mental health difficulties.
- Ability to develop relationships with professionals across organisations.
- Relevant professional qualification such as Social Work, Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, Psychology, Youth Work or Nursing.
