Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Physicist and Systems Modeller to join our Electronic Warfare Support Group (EWOS) team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop in-house countermeasure simulation software tools, model physical interactions and phenomena across dynamic simulations, and work with our software development team.

The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of Physics/Mathematical principles at degree-level, as well as experience with Electro-Optics (EO), Infra-Red (IR), or Radio Frequency (RF) sensors and systems within a defence setting.

This role involves analysing, designing, modelling (MATLAB/Python/Simulink), and verifying countermeasure techniques across various real-world scenarios, culminating in delivery to customers for use in operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse customer requirements and develop models to meet their needs
  • Add new features to the countermeasure software and solve customer challenges
  • Manage technical work for junior team members and line manage some junior engineers
