Croydon Council's SWWF and Assessment Team is seeking experienced social workers to join our dynamic team and make a real difference for children and families in the community.

About the Role

As a Social Worker or Senior Social Worker, you'll hold a manageable caseload of children and families requiring intervention under:

  • Section 17 (Child in Need)
  • Section 47 (Child Protection)
  • Initial Court Applications where necessary

Your Responsibilities

You will conduct timely and thorough assessments to identify risks and needs, such as Single Assessments or Strategy Meetings. You will also coordinate Section 47 investigations to ensure children's safety, working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.

What We're Looking For

  • Social Work England Registration (essential)
  • 3+ years' proven experience in Children's Services teams, ideally within Assessment or Child Protection
  • Strong skills in decision-making, communication, and time management
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018)
