Job Summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Allied Health Professional/Nurse to lead the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit as part of the Stroke Department within the Medicine Care Group. This is a fixed-term appointment for 2 years, offering an exciting opportunity to enhance inpatient care and discharge from hospital of patients undergoing rehabilitation following a stroke.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and leadership of the rehabilitation beds on the stroke rehabilitation unit, including admission, discharge, and patient care. They will work closely with the Consultant Physiotherapist to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive rehabilitation program for patients with stroke
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with external partners to optimize transitions of care and ensure seamless patient flow
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program and make recommendations for improvement
