Job Title: Youth Worker

Are you passionate about working with children and young people with challenging behaviour? Do you have experience working with young people with SEMH needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team at Academics Ltd.

About the Role:

As a Youth Worker, you will be working in schools across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Stoke on Trent, and Newcastle under Lyme. Your role will involve working as a classroom assistant and pastoral youth support worker. You will be responsible for supporting children who have been through trauma, those with mental health and emotional needs. Your duties will include helping children manage their behaviours, regulating their emotions, and engaging with the school day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting children with SEMH needs in a classroom setting
  • Working with children who have experienced trauma
  • Helping children manage their behaviours and regulate their emotions
  • Engaging with children and promoting positive interactions
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to hold student attention and focus
  • Emotional resilience and ability to handle challenging situations
