Job Summary

The post holder will be responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and delivering patient care in a caring, compassionate, and sensitive manner. They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. The post holder will also act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis. They will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, performing a variety of tasks, including assessing patients, developing care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Assessing patients and developing care plans
  • Delivering high-quality patient care on a shift basis
  • Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to contribute to the clinical governance process
  • Acting as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff
  • Developing and maintaining high standards of quality patient care

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • First-level registration as a Registered Nurse
  • A degree or diploma in nursing
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and IT/word processing
  • Experience of working in a cardiac catheter lab environment
  • Ability to supervise and support junior staff
  • Teaching and assessing skills/ability
