Senior Occupational Therapist

The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Short Term Assessment, Rehabilitation and Reablement Service (STARRS). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality therapy and nursing services to patients in need of intermediate care.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative Occupational Therapist to take on a senior role in the provision of a high-quality therapy and nursing service within the specialist area of STARRS. You will be responsible for assessing and treating your own clinical caseload, defining and implementing individualized programs of care, and managing a team of staff through day-to-day line management, supervision, and appraisal.
Key Responsibilities- Develop specialist skills within Occupational Therapy in intermediate care
- Develop skills in recognizing and treating acutely unwell patients
- Supervise junior staff and students
- Take a senior role in the provision of a high-quality therapy and nursing service within the specialist area (STARRS)
- Be autonomously responsible for assessing and treating own clinical caseload within the specialist area and defining and implementing individualized programs of care
- Manage a team of staff through day-to-day line management, supervision, and appraisal, to ensure best practice and patient care
- Lead on clinical audit and research within the specialist area
- Support the wider operations of STARRS, in line with managerial structure and planning
- Provide the highest standard of evidence-based care to patients within their own home, working with agreed management care plans and protocols
