Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as an Operational Coordinator. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, leading the midwifery team and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the midwifery team, providing operational coordination and support to ensure the effective delivery of midwifery services. This will involve working closely with the midwifery leadership team, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring that the team is equipped to provide safe and responsive care to women and babies.

About the Role

This is a 12-month, part-time, fixed-term opportunity for night shifts only. The successful candidate will be required to have existing knowledge and experience in leading and managing a team, as well as strong leadership and communication skills. The role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing service demands and priorities, and ensuring that the team is equipped to provide high-quality care.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in midwifery, with experience in leading and managing a team. They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities. The successful candidate will also be required to have a good understanding of national and local NHS and midwifery agendas, as well as experience of introducing change to a clinical environment.
