About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Scunthorpe. The successful candidate will work a combination of mornings and afternoons on a rotating shift pattern.
Main Responsibilities:
- To carry out planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of our factory and associated systems.
- To provide rapid response to breakdowns, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity.
- To fault find, troubleshoot, and maintain, repair conveyor systems, equipment, and plant using all engineering disciplines.
- To follow up on any faults picked up on PPMs, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly.
- To maintain engineering standards, ensuring that our factory and associated systems operate effectively and reliably.
- To assist specialist subcontractors with PPM and reactive works, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
- To ensure that company QA and site procedures are adhered to in all aspects, maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.
- To ensure that company and site Health & Safety procedures are always followed, maintaining a safe working environment.
- To keep and maintain all company-issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner.
- To proactively work towards the continued success and support of the business, demonstrating a can-do attitude and a commitment to excellence.
- To complete any other associated tasks requested by management, ensuring that all responsibilities are met.
- To ensure that workstations are kept tidy and well-maintained, promoting a clean and organized working environment.
About You
Key Skills and Desires:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering and relevant experience.
- A PLC qualification, demonstrating expertise in programming and control systems.
- An ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge, with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
