About the Role

Sainsbury's is seeking an experienced Procurement Leader to join our team as the Head of Procurement and Supplier Management in the Property category. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing end-to-end category strategies, driving value for money and challenging existing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver specific category plans and commercial strategies to ensure fit-for-purpose and sustainable sourcing and supply chains across the Sainsbury's Group.
  • Lead complex commercial activities, participate in cross-functional teams, and negotiate and manage contracts with key suppliers.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a business partner and providing valuable insights and perspectives to support challenging commercial strategies.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, coaching and motivating them to achieve their objectives and contribute to the advancement of the Procurement and Supplier Management function.

Requirements

  • Accomplished procurement professional with extensive experience in developing and executing commercial strategies within the Property, Construction, or Facilities Management sectors.
  • Deep understanding of external supply markets and emerging trends, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver value for the organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior management and advise on commercial strategies to optimise cost and quality.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams and leverage expertise in contract law, negotiation, and third-party relationship management to ensure successful execution of complex sourcing projects.
