Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a Business Development Manager to provide support and guidance to a group of independent retailers within the Independent SPAR estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on promotional activity, range-review, store layout, and operational effectiveness.
Main Responsibilities:
- Participate in in-store projects to enhance business development.
- Build trust with internal and external customers.
- Set goals, monitor customer performance, and implement measurable business plans using KPIs.
- Manage customer loyalty, ensuring product purchases align with sales targets.
- Ensure sales to independent customers meet quarterly and yearly targets.
- Work with Retail Services to carefully manage retail development projects.
- Advise customers on systems for maximum gross profit.
- Recruitment of new stores.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Store Manager or in a Senior Account Management position within food retail/convenience/supermarket sector.
- Ability to build strong relationships and showcase business development skills from previous roles.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience in achieving budgets and targets.
- Proven history of identifying and maximising business development opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- A full, valid UK/EU driving license.
