Business Development Executive

Main Responsibilities

As a Business Development Executive at REED Specialist Recruitment, you will be responsible for expanding our client base in the construction and civils sector. Your key duties will include:





  • Researching and identifying potential clients and key decision-makers in the construction and civils sector

  • Developing and executing strategic plans to engage new clients and expand business opportunities

  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients through regular communication and meetings, understanding their needs, and proposing tailored solutions

  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment of services and offerings with client requirements

  • Preparing and delivering persuasive presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth

  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets and objectives set by the company

  • Preparing and submitting proposals, quotations, and necessary paperwork required to secure business using the marketing team for support

  • Attending networking opportunities including conferences and industry events



Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:





  • A proven track record in business development ideally within the construction and civil engineering industry

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a relevant field

  • An understanding of construction and civil engineering processes, technologies, and market trends

  • Proficient in the use of CRM software and Microsoft Office suite

  • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload while working under pressure

  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to sector and industry-related events in the UK and Europe
