Business Development Manager

Main Responsibilities
As a Business Development Executive at REED Specialist Recruitment, you will be responsible for expanding our client base in the construction and civils sector. Your key duties will include:
- Researching and identifying potential clients and key decision-makers in the construction and civils sector
- Developing and executing strategic plans to engage new clients and expand business opportunities
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients through regular communication and meetings, understanding their needs, and proposing tailored solutions
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment of services and offerings with client requirements
- Preparing and delivering persuasive presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth
- Achieving and exceeding sales targets and objectives set by the company
- Preparing and submitting proposals, quotations, and necessary paperwork required to secure business using the marketing team for support
- Attending networking opportunities including conferences and industry events
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A proven track record in business development ideally within the construction and civil engineering industry
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a relevant field
- An understanding of construction and civil engineering processes, technologies, and market trends
- Proficient in the use of CRM software and Microsoft Office suite
- Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload while working under pressure
- Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to sector and industry-related events in the UK and Europe
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) and a range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life insurance, and a flexible working environment.
