Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Publicity Campaign Manager to join our team at Hachette UK. As a Publicity Campaign Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing publicity campaigns for our allocated titles to maximize sales and raise the profile of our authors, brands, and titles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative publicity campaigns for allocated titles to grow sales, raise author/book profile, and brand awareness across all editions, including physical, digital, and audio.
  • Analyze the impact of publicity on sales.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all areas of the media to secure positive coverage for new titles.
  • Plan, schedule, write, and place press releases to publicize activities associated with titles and promotional events.
  • Pitch books/products and authors to media contacts and event organizers.
  • Organize and accompany authors to publicity events within the UK.
  • Work in conjunction with other team members and support colleagues across major campaigns.
  • Liaise closely with editorial, sales, and marketing to ensure comprehensive campaigns across all platforms.
  • Understand and manage own budgets, campaign categories, and prioritization.
  • Manage freelance resources where needed.
  • Collate media coverage, keeping authors, agents, and editors informed.
  • Understand and manage social media and influencer outreach.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in the industry, share experiences, and ideas for improvements.
  • Attend events in the evenings and at weekends as reasonably required for the role.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in publicity or a relevant area.
  • Experience of the media, including traditional, online, and social media.
  • Experience of pitching to media and event organizers.
  • Creating and delivering publicity campaigns.
  • Financial awareness.
  • Use of media databases.
  • Experience of collaborating with colleagues and other departments.
