Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medicines Management Dispensing Assistant to join our team at Royal Preston Hospital or Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive safe and effective medication.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' own medications for suitability and appropriateness for use while in hospital.
  • Order and dispense medicines for patients as required, working closely with nursing teams and pharmacists to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Maintain accurate stock control and manage re-supply of medicines during patient stays.
  • Provide excellent communication and information to patients and nursing staff regarding medicines and pharmacy services.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with EMIS (Ascribe) and other pharmacy IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including keyboard proficiency.

Salary and Benefits
