Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dietetic Assistant to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Dietetic Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our dietitians in providing high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with the analysis, coding, and provision of allergy information for patient menus, as well as helping patients with special dietary needs to choose and obtain their required meals and snacks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dietitians in completing general administrative tasks, such as registering or amending patient registrations, keeping track of feeding pumps, and stock control.
  • Support dietitians in delivering aspects of dietetic care by reviewing, monitoring, and advising patients, and undertaking related administration.
  • Participate in project work, including review audits, and work alongside dietitians, other health professionals, and catering staff to improve working practices.
  • Liaise with dietitians, patients, the catering department, and ward staff to ensure the provision of therapeutic diets, appropriate snacks, supplements, and enteral feeds runs smoothly.
  • Be responsible for the ordering and supply of nutritional products to wards and outpatients, including conducting weekly stock takes and placing orders with different nutritional suppliers.
Requirements
  • Good general level of education up to at least A level (or equivalent)
  • Study of subject(s) related to food/health/nutrition to at least A level standard (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work without supervision and respond to unpredictable working patterns
  • Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
