Job Summary

This is an exciting new post to deliver new psychological therapies for patients with psychosis. The postholder will be part of the Sleeping Better and Feeling Safer clinical trials. Each trial tests new psychological treatments for patients with psychosis or at high-risk for psychosis.

Main Duties of the Job

This role involves supporting drug and alcohol key workers in the delivery of psychosocial approaches. You will plan and deliver clinical formulation sessions via multidisciplinary meetings and work with CGL managers to identify training needs. You will plan, prepare and deliver skills practice supervision sessions and work with the service to develop their intervention offer.

About Us

You will be supported in your role by a principal clinical psychologist and a consultant clinical psychologist. This role is managed within the community mental health service and you will be part of a wider family of psychological professionals with access to training and supervision opportunities within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with a range of clients, presenting a range of clinical severity and maintenance of professionalism in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience of tailoring psychological assessment and intervention to individual needs.
  • Experience of working with adults with forensic needs/inpatient secure settings

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialist psychological assessment methods and therapeutic approaches in relation to the client group
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and the legal context of inpatient/secure services
  • Committed to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with other members with the Psychological Services.
  • Well developed communication skills, suitable to the specialty.

  • Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC in Clinical Psychology
