Post 2: Band 7, 0.4wte, 14.9 hours (Fixed term until 31/03/25)
£48,788 - £56,747 pro rata
(Public holidays, on-call rota commitment included)
NHS Lothian serves a population of 900,000, providing a range of primary, community-based, and acute hospital services. We have strategic partnerships with local universities, local authorities, and our four Integration Joint Boards.
The Pharmacy & Medicines service aims to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian receive the best from their medicines and pharmacy services. We focus on creating an environment where each person in the team has the opportunity to flourish, develop, and make best use of their skills.
East Lothian Community Hospital provides services to elderly patients, including acute admission, assessment, and rehabilitation, as well as patients with mental health problems. The postholder will provide a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to this group of patients, focusing on medicines reconciliation, systematic identification and resolution of individual pharmaceutical care issues, and provision of seamless care.
The successful provision of these services relies on working within a multidisciplinary team, where pharmacy is a valued member. The postholder will also have close links with other members of the clinical pharmacy team in NHS Lothian.
We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacists to join the pharmacy team, delivering the highest quality pharmacy services to these patients. The post holders will contribute to the development and delivery of the clinical pharmacy service and will be a key member of the multidisciplinary teams.
Candidates will have experience of pro-actively influencing prescribing within a clinical setting and will have gained experience working in a patient-focused environment using their knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines.
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and have completed or have equivalent competence as mapped to the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework available at:
