About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mayor's Office as a Strategic Advisor to the Deputy Mayor, providing high-level support and guidance on key policy areas. As a member of the Policy and Delivery Unit, you will work closely with the Deputy Mayor and other senior advisors to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive growth and prosperity in London.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert advice on policy development, stakeholder engagement, and project management to support the Deputy Mayor's agenda.
  • Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and community organizations, to promote the Mayor's priorities and foster effective partnership working.
  • Supporting project delivery across different teams and areas of work within the GLA, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing corporate programs and strategies to promoting the Mayor's agenda for London. Your expertise and insight will help shape the direction of policy and ensure that the Deputy Mayor's vision is effectively communicated and implemented.

Key Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public policy, with experience in stakeholder engagement, project management, and team leadership. A master's degree in a relevant field, such as politics, international relations, or public administration, is highly desirable.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £55,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a range of benefits, including 30 days' annual leave, interest-free season ticket loan, and career-average pension scheme.
