The Greater London Authority (GLA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Policy Advisor to support the Deputy Mayor, Business and Growth in developing policy and promoting the Mayor's agenda for London.

About the Role

As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will provide high-level strategic advice and stakeholder management to the Deputy Mayor, Business and Growth. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing broad policy and high-level strategic advice to the Deputy Mayor, Business and Growth in areas covered by their brief.
  2. Monitoring relevant policy developments to co-ordinate the input and response of the Deputy Mayor, Business and Growth and ensure the Mayoralty is able to exploit opportunities and is aware of risks.

You will work closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure effective diary and inbox management, as well as collaborate with other colleagues in the Mayor's Office to ensure the co-ordinated and effective delivery of the Mayor's agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management on behalf of the Deputy Mayor, Business and Growth including projects that span different teams and areas of work in the GLA.
  • Support the effective running of the Deputy Mayor's office, including working with the Executive Assistant.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Mayor Business and Growth as appropriate in internal and external forums.
  • Support the Deputy Mayor Business and Growth to build relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Ability to analyse and master public policy.
  • Ability to oversee and support project and programme delivery to achieve successful outcomes.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who can bring a strong understanding of public policy and project management to this role. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The location is based in London.
