We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Inspector to join our team at the Office for Nuclear Regulation. As a key member of our Human Factors Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and secure operation of nuclear facilities across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and assessments to identify human factors risks and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate human factors risks and enhance safety performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to influence duty holders to consider human factors in their operations
- Conduct investigations and research projects to inform human factors policy and practice
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues on human factors principles and practices
- Relevant degree-level qualification in a field such as Human Factors, Psychology, or a related discipline
- Chartered membership of the Chartered Institute for Ergonomics and Human Factors or the British Psychological Society
- Experience of assessing and producing human factors safety cases and reports in the nuclear or high-hazard industry
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
- Ability to make sound proportionate judgments on the significance of human factors issues
- A competitive salary of £80,670
