As a Nuclear Safety Inspector - Internal Hazards Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of nuclear facilities across the UK. As a Nuclear Safety Inspector - Internal Hazards Specialist, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape our society's future use of nuclear technology.
The RoleAs an inspector, your job will be varied, and you are likely to undertake a range of roles across the sector. You will consider hazards that originate within the site boundary and are due to initiating events over which the site operator has some form of control. This includes internal fire, flooding, explosions, dropped loads, pipe whip, jet impact, internal missiles, and other hazards. You will assess safety cases and ensure that duty holders provide suitable measures to prevent these hazards and protect plant against their effects.

- Conduct inspections and assessments on site to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety solutions in a hazardous industry.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Safety Inspector - Internal Hazards Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Previous experience in internal hazards within the nuclear industry or equivalent.
- Demonstrable background in the assessment of complex safety systems designed with multiple lines of protection.
- Experience of implementing safety solutions in a hazardous industry.
- Knowledge of one or more nuclear/high hazard facilities.
- The ability to assimilate, analyse, and provide judgements on new and complex technical issues.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and influencing skills.
