About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our cost management team on a prestigious infrastructure project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a value-added cost management service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met through effective cost management.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and write procurement reports to inform project decisions.
  • Apply Value Management techniques to optimize project costs and outcomes.
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including the development of cost plans and the presentation of final cost plans to clients.
  • Oversee the procurement process, ensuring that all stages are performed effectively, from pre-qualification to contract preparation.
  • Manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Ensure the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
  • Develop and implement value engineering and life cycle costing strategies to reduce project costs.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients.
  • Lead a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all accountabilities.
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work with Directors to construct bids for new work.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products.
  • Manage junior staff, including inputting into formal management processes and attending appraisals.
Requirements
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects, preferably in the rail sector.
  • MRICS or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with NEC3 contracts, particularly Option C – Target Cost.
  • Post-contract administration expertise.
  • Experience leading and managing teams.
