About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Oldham Council. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who are in care, care leavers, and Children in Need from the age of 16 through to the age of 18.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop, monitor, and review individual risk assessments, homes support plans, and care plans to ensure that all actions resulting from them are followed.
  • To assist young people in dealing with behavioural, emotional, or other difficulties in line with Policy, Procedure, Supported Accommodation Standards & Regulations.
  • To participate in the professional life of the home and to work as a member of the residential staff team.
  • To support young people to develop skills and confidence moving on to independent living.

Requirements:

  • Experience of delivering life skills and/or participation programmes to young people in a youth work, social care, or health setting.
  • At least 1 year's experience working with children and young people.
  • Vocational qualification in health and social care, etc. at NVQ level 3 or above is an essential requirement for this post.
