At the Victoria & Albert Museum, we are seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at V&A East.

The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and creative professional to help deliver a pioneering volunteering programme at V&A East. As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating a programme that sits across both sites, helping to involve and maintain positive relationships with our core and new audiences and facilitate engagement with our programme and collection.

You will work with colleagues across the organisation to help deliver a programme that holds community, storytelling, and the sharing of mutually enriching experiences at its core.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating a pioneering volunteering programme at V&A East
  • Helping to involve and maintain positive relationships with our core and new audiences
  • Facilitating engagement with our programme and collection
  • Working with colleagues across the organisation to deliver a programme that super-serves volunteers
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience of volunteering or working with local communities, particularly those who have not had much previous experience of museums or cultural institutions
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate complex workstreams
  • A proactive and responsive mindset, with a willingness to approach challenges in a flexible way
