Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Family Office to join our team at Lloyd Barnes Accountancy Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing and developing financial, administrative, and technical tasks for trusts, estates, and corporate entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee tax returns, manage transactions, provide investment advice, and supervise staff.
  • Administrative Support: Coordinate with auditors and banks, mentor staff, and support technical development.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare tax returns, manage TRS records, ensure AML compliance, and coordinate with external firms.
  • Trust and Estate Management: Advise on structuring trusts and estates to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Property Management: Work with agents on lettings and development projects, ensuring accurate accounting.
  • Company Secretarial: Manage share registers, transfers, dividends, and other records for various Family Companies.
  • AGM Preparation: Oversee AGM preparation and liaise with auditors and advisers.
  • IT Management: Maintain IT systems and backups, and coordinate with IT support for security.
  • Charity Accounting: Oversee charity accounting activities.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders and provide confidential advice.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in tax compliance and tax software systems.
  • Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in company secretarial duties, including share valuation and managing company records.
  • Knowledge: Strong familiarity with trust and estate law, inheritance tax, and trust registration requirements.
  • Experience: Some experience in property management, including tenancies, purchases, and sales would be helpful.
  • Personal Qualities: Exhibit strong organisational and management skills, with a good degree of IT proficiency and robust man-management abilities.
