Retail Operations Role

This is a key role within Saltrock Head Office, responsible for supporting the Head of Retail to lead and motivate store teams to deliver specified plans, constantly reviewing to ensure objectives are met.

  • Balance the requirements of the Senior Leadership Team with the practical reality of retail store management needs and ensure all plans consider the store environment.
  • Put the customer at the heart of operational decisions and look for ways to drive store efficiencies and promote sustainability.
  • Ensure all communication from head office is channelled through Retail Ops before being sent to stores.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Support

Keep stores fully up to date with all relevant information using Retail Trade Updates as the main point of contact.

Maintain the retail library for all policies and procedures available via Sharepoint.

Merchandising

  • Pull together and create VM guidelines for stores.
  • Sending out markdown lists and promo updates to stores.

Linkage

  • Communicate Linkage results weekly via email sign-up for online marketing.
  • Work with Area Managers to manage Linkage performance within stores.
  • Identify where further support and training may be needed, supporting Area Managers to implement.

Store Staffing

  • Assist the Head of Retail in delivering the retail staffing budget.
  • Provide high-level weekly information to the retail team on store hours spent against forecast.
  • Approve weekly rotas for all stores 4 weeks in advance.

Maintenance

  • Be the main point of contact for maintenance issues within retail stores.
  • Communicate with external maintenance contractors to ensure work orders are on track to be completed and relevant POs are raised.
  • Facilitate the resolution of Health and Safety issues across stores with the H&S Manager.

Technical Support

  • Work with store teams, network and till companies to identify, report and resolve technical issues within stores, working closely with the IT Manager.
  • Have a clear escalation process through to Head of Retail and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Keep the till system up to date with starters and leavers.
  • Manage the Gift Card operation in stores.

Consumables

  • Manage consumables with all stores.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure overall consumable spend is within budget.

New Store Openings

  • Create critical paths for new store openings.
  • Order all new store consumables in line with the critical path.

Requirements:

  • Highly competent communicator.
  • Great organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of the retail environment.
