English Teacher Leadership Opportunity

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead English Teacher to join the permanent staff at their alternative provision in Westbury. This is a unique opportunity to lead and inspire within a supportive and nurturing environment, making a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs.
About the Role- As a Lead English Teacher, you will be responsible for leading the English department within the alternative provision, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- You will monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies and interventions.
- Support and mentor other staff in delivering English across the curriculum, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach.
- Work closely with the SENCO, leadership team, and other staff to develop the provision's curriculum and contribute to overall school improvement.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.
- Proven experience in teaching English at secondary level, ideally within an SEN or alternative provision setting.
- A thorough understanding of the national curriculum and experience adapting it to meet the needs of students with SEN and SEMH.
