Overview

The Materials Planner plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our business strategy by ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of raw materials and packaging. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills to effectively manage vendor relationships and coordinate with internal teams.

The Role and Team

As a key member of our Planning team, the Materials Planner will work closely with the Head of Planning to develop and implement procurement strategies that meet business objectives. This role involves reviewing raw material and packaging requirements, placing orders, and monitoring vendor delivery confirmations to ensure timely delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze raw material and packaging requirements to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Place orders with vendors and monitor delivery confirmations to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate with internal teams to coordinate procurement activities and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels and stock turnover to inform procurement decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team to develop and implement procurement strategies that meet business objectives.
Qualifications/Personal Qualities

Essential

  • Supply chain experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
