Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for rail infrastructure projects.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and significant experience in design and detail of structure and superstructure solutions in Rail. You will also need to have acted in a role of CRE and have experience in project engagement (GRIP stages 3-8). Additionally, you will need to hold a PTS certificate and be proficient in the use of spoken and written English language.
About the RoleAs a Senior Civil or Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for reporting into the Design Manager and performing CRE duties in accordance with NR/L2/INI/02009. You will also be responsible for submitting quality design documents in accordance with NR/L2/CIV/003 and collating key components. You will need to liaise with CAD Technicians in the production of drawings and input into large multidisciplinary tenders.
You will also be responsible for maintaining an understanding of commercial aspects of projects and ensuring cost control measures. You will need to record and track documents electronically and monitor adherence to quality assurance. Additionally, you will need to produce designers' risk assessments using a variety of forms and provide weekly reports outlining work plans, forecasts, and key achievements.
You will be responsible for conducting outline design and detailing of Rail civil infrastructure, providing accurate and appropriate imagery. You will also need to produce details, specifications, and calculations for all structural aspects, ensuring that designs meet specification and expectation. You will be expected to be innovative and introduce improvements where appropriate to areas of responsibility.
You will work on signalling civils enabling, level crossings, power enabling works, OLE foundations, and temporary works. You will also work with other like-minded engineers and technicians to complete challenging projects throughout the UK. Our office locations are in Birmingham, Manchester, and York, and we offer a car allowance or company car and private healthcare.
