Primary HLTA (SEN Experience) Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Learning Support Assistant to work in primary schools in the North East region.

Job Summary: As a Primary Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing targeted support and interventions for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons and support students in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver effective lessons and interventions for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, tailored to their individual needs.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to support students with a range of SEN, including behavioral, emotional, and learning difficulties.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adapting support as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Work with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Primary Learning Support Assistant with a focus on SEN.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and experience in implementing effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in SEN support.

Safeguarding: This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. The successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
