About the Role

CWP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Editorial to join our team. As a key member of our content creation team, you will be responsible for shaping the editorial strategy and vision behind our award-winning digital content.

In this role, you will work closely with our team to research and understand focus industries, uncover key topics, challenges, and opportunities, and help identify key themes and storylines. You will also build relationships with our member body partners and collaborate with them to shape engaging digital series that support their aims while aligning to CWP's purpose.

As the Head of Editorial, you will lead the creation of project briefings, outlining objectives, and key themes, and work closely with the Head of Content Marketing to define key messages, formats, platforms, and audiences for each series. You will also oversee quality control, ensuring all content meets high editorial standards, while also adhering to best practices for digital content creation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an editorial strategy and vision for CWP's digital content
  • Work closely with the Series Development Team to research and understand focus industries, uncover key topics, challenges, and opportunities
  • Build relationships with member body partners and collaborate with them to shape engaging digital series
  • Lead the creation of project briefings and work closely with the Head of Content Marketing to define key messages, formats, platforms, and audiences
  • Oversee quality control and ensure all content meets high editorial standards
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in editorial and content creation. You should have a creative and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives. You should also have strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team of creative professionals.

Key requirements include:

  • 10+ years' experience in editorial, video, and film, content creation, media, or production roles
  • Experience in journalism, digital media, news, current affairs, documentary, or factual content
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £55,000 to £70,000, depending on experience, as well as a company and individual performance-based annual bonus of 10%. We also offer 25 days' holiday, rising with years of service, a pension scheme, laptop, monitors, and a homeworking setup. Additionally, we offer an annual wellbeing allowance and flexible working hours.
