Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in a KS3 and KS4 setting. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualized support and create a nurturing environment that enables pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and providing individualized support to pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Assist with outdoor day trips and activity days to promote social skills and independence
  • Embody the school's vision and core values, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work with pupils with ASD, complex needs, and challenging behaviors, providing tailored support and strategies to meet their needs
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support pupil progress
Requirements:
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, preferably in a KS3 and KS4 setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to meeting the needs of pupils and the school
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment
