About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our team in the Older Adult Psychology Service at Powys Teaching Health Board. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the professional psychological care of clients within our service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Older Adult Psychology Service.
- Conduct psychological assessments and interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
- Assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects.
- Communicate condition-related information to clients, relatives, and other stakeholders in a clear and empathetic manner.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients.
Requirements:
- Upper Second or First-Class Honours degree in Psychology.
- Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Previous employment or voluntary work with individuals with psychological and/or other difficulties.
- Knowledge of clinical use of neuropsychological assessments.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate training/experience in relevant area of Applied Psychology and in Research.
- Knowledge of, or additional training in, working with older adults with a history of mental health difficulties.
- Experience of working with individuals with a history of complex mental health issues/dementia and their families/carers.
