About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Psychologist to join our Older Adult Psychology Service within Powys Teaching Health Board. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and will be responsible for providing psychological assessments and interventions to older adults with complex mental health conditions.

Main Duties

  • Conduct neuropsychological assessments and provide psychological interventions to individuals with dementia and other complex mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement systemic psychological interventions.
  • Provide training and education to staff and service users on psychological principles and interventions.
  • Contribute to the development of audit and research projects to improve service delivery and outcomes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Upper Second or First Class Honours degree in Psychology.
  • Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Previous experience of working with older adults with complex mental health conditions.
  • Knowledge of clinical use of neuropsychological assessments.

Working Arrangements

The post holder will be based in South Powys at Bronllys Hospital and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide psychological interventions and support to older adults.
