About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Production Manager to join our team at Nicholson Hird. As a key member of our site leadership team, you will be responsible for leading production across two facilities, overseeing all aspects of operations, plant metrics, safety, quality, cost control, people engagement and development, and continuous improvement.

As a senior leader, you will have the opportunity to deputise for the Site Manager and will be given specific development to ensure you can successfully manage the additional brief as and when required.

You will work collaboratively with the rest of the site leadership team to meet common goals, share ideas, and ensure that Production works effectively alongside all other functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead production across two facilities, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality output.
  • Oversee all aspects of operations, including plant metrics, safety, quality, cost control, and people engagement and development.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the site leadership team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Deputise for the Site Manager as required, taking on additional responsibilities and challenges.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, or Manufacturing Manager in a technically challenging, batch manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing setting, such as aerospace, medical devices, or pharmaceutical.
  • Formal qualifications in a science, chemistry, or engineering-related discipline.
  • Ability to evidence quantifiable achievement in leadership, with a major focus on safety and world-class manufacturing methods.
  • Strong cross-functional understanding of New Product Introduction, Quality, Engineering, and Projects.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and apply a structured and logical problem-solving approach.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
