Tunbridge Wells, Kent, United Kingdom CV Library Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Operations Engineer to join our team in Kent.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our solar plants, including electrical maintenance, solar panel cleaning, and HV maintenance (for those with HV qualifications).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Solar Operations and Maintenance Engineer looking to work for a reputable organisation that prioritises integrity and employee well-being.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of solar plants, optimise site efficiency, and ensure equipment availability.
  • Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance tasks across solar farms, including electrical work, solar panel cleaning, and HV maintenance (if qualified).
  • Resolve work tickets effectively and report issues to line managers.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams, including LV/HV personnel, grounds teams, and external subcontractors as needed.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior technicians when required.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for non-working hours (including Bank Holidays and weekends), with one weekend in every five for this region (on-call allowances).

We prefer candidates with experience in industrial or utility-scale solar, but also consider industrial electrician backgrounds. A City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Engineering, Installation, Testing & Inspection or similar electrical course is essential. A full UK driving licence is necessary due to the remote locations of our sites.
