Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Policy Specialist to join our team as a Regional Property Wording Specialist. This role will play a critical part in delivering superior products that meet AIG's global policy wording standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze Commercial Property policy language, providing guidance to UK underwriters and drafting endorsements to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Partner with Legal, Claims, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to ensure policy language meets AIG requirements.
  • Respond to underwriter questions, coach them on policy wording best practices, and develop policy wording training.
  • Drive coverage certainty by establishing policy wording guidelines and counseling underwriters on best practices.
  • Review competitor forms and recommend acceptability and required endorsements to the Global Property Wording Manager.
  • Draft manuscript endorsements to AIG's standard policy forms and create bespoke endorsements for third-party policy forms.
  • Work with Underwriting, Claims, and Legal teams to draft new policy forms and endorsements.
  • Maintain and update manuscript policy checklists to ensure policy reviews match AIG's underwriting intent.
  • Develop training to help underwriters better understand policy wording importance.
  • Contribute to Underwriting Bulletins and other communications to provide direction and insight on policy wording and usage.
Requirements
  • Written and Oral Communication: Analyze and draft policy language, breaking down complex concepts for clear explanations to underwriters and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: Experience with UK Property markets and policy forms; international experience and knowledge of wordings and insurance legal environments a plus.
  • Flexibility: Proficiency in working independently and collaborating with others across multiple disciplines.
  • Prioritizing and Time Management: Manage time effectively, prioritize projects, and respond promptly.
  • Client Service: Anticipate internal and external client needs and act proactively.
  • Problem Solving: Identify problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain accurate documentation.
  • Learning Agility: Continually learn from experiences and new situations.
  • Forms Management: Experience building out and maintaining forms libraries a plus.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Word, Teams, and PowerPoint required; familiarity with Excel preferred.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
