Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Alternative Education Support Tutor. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of alternative education pathways, providing learning opportunities for socially and educationally excluded young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To build and maintain positive relationships with young people, providing a non-judgmental adult role model with a commitment to inclusive practice.
  • To work effectively in individual and team contexts, in conjunction with designated staff and volunteers, in accordance with flexible timetable requirements.
  • To provide consistent and comprehensive evidence of student participation in activities, including photographs, observation records, and witness statements.
  • To support the delivery of SMSC, Accreditation, and Maths and English sessions to groups or individual students, as directed by the group Alternative Education Tutor or the Specialist Teacher.
  • To help deliver schemes of work, appropriate learning tasks, and vocational activities that meet the needs of the young people, as directed by the group Alternative Education Tutor or the Specialist Teacher.
  • To help supervise students throughout the day, during educational and recreational periods.

Requirements:

  • A commitment to inclusive practice and a non-judgmental adult role model.
  • Ability to work effectively in individual and team contexts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide consistent and comprehensive evidence of student participation in activities.
  • Knowledge of SMSC, Accreditation, and Maths and English sessions.
