PSHE Tutor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PSHE Tutor to join our team at MidKent College. As a PSHE Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
Main Responsibilities- Teaching and Learning
- Deliver high-quality PSHE tutorials to students, promoting their personal and academic growth and progression.
- Use online software and resources to facilitate 1:1 tutorials and group sessions, enabling students to develop employability skills and become work-ready.
- Safeguarding and Welfare
- Work closely with the safeguarding team to identify and address welfare and safeguarding issues affecting students.
- Meet with students individually to discuss their concerns and provide guidance and support.
- Refer cases to internal support services as necessary, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and child protection legislation.
- Student Progress and Support
- Monitor students' progress, providing academic support and developing their soft skills.
- Assist students with UCAS applications and maintain an overview of their holistic performance.
- College Life and Community
- Provide a forum for academic discussion, encouraging student participation and development through volunteering, citizenship, and the Student Voice.
- Assist students in accessing college support services, including careers, financial, and welfare support.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain excellent communication with students, college staff, and parents/carers using various means, including ProMonitor.
- Liaise with internal college departments, including Heads of Departments and relevant staff, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Minimum Level 3 academic or vocational qualification and 5 GCSE passes, including English and Maths.
- Experience of teaching/working with students with varying needs and abilities.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Ability to work flexibly and consider a return to work from a career break.
