Job Title: PSHE Tutor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PSHE Tutor to join our team at MidKent College. As a PSHE Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality PSHE tutorials to students, supporting their personal and academic growth, and ensuring they are equipped with the skills needed to progress into employment and/or Higher Education.
Main Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Learning: Deliver PSHE tutorials to students, using a range of teaching methods and resources to engage and motivate learners.
- Safeguarding: Work closely with the safeguarding team to identify and address student welfare needs, ensuring 100% compliance with safeguarding and child protection legislation, college policy, and working practices.
- Student Progress: Monitor student progress, supporting their academic performance and developing soft skills, assisting with UCAS applications as required, and maintaining an overview of student's holistic performance.
- Student Support: Provide a forum for academic discussion, encouraging development through volunteering, citizenship, and participation in the Student Voice.
- College Support: Assist students in developing knowledge of the College, providing students with information on how to access all forms of available support within the College, including careers, financial, and welfare support.
- Assessment and Feedback: Deliver learning using relevant technologies, assessing and providing feedback to students to the required standards, acting as a reference point for additional individual support, and continuously developing tutorials to ensure they are engaging and meet students' needs.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Minimum level 3 academic or vocational qualification and 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths.
- Experience: Experience of teaching/working with a wide range of students with varying needs and abilities, experience of recognising and dealing with student welfare needs, and knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Applications.
