Specialist Learning Support Tutor

Job Overview
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Specialist Learning Support Tutor to join our team in Bridgwater. As a Specialist Learning Support Tutor, you will play a crucial role in providing bespoke tuition packages to young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who require individualized support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and improve attainment levels.
- Create engaging lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each pupil.
- Work collaboratively with families and other stakeholders to ensure seamless progress monitoring and reporting.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to achieve shared goals.
Requirements:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Possess experience working with SEN children in a classroom setting or care environment.
- Demonstrate expertise in supporting young people with SEN, particularly those who have been disengaged from learning.
- Show creativity, patience, and flexibility in adapting to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Hold an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate and provide two professional child-related references.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of £27+ per hour, paid on a part-time basis (minimum 6 hours per week). This is a temporary contract, typically lasting until the pupil can reintegrate into mainstream/special school.
