Lead Child Adolescent Psychotherapist/Emotional Difficulties Specialist

Waltham Forest Children & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

We are seeking an experienced post-graduate qualified Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our Waltham Forest CAMHS. The service provides evidence-based psychological interventions to children, young people, and their families experiencing mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will be directly involved in delivering and supervising a range of therapeutic interventions, including parent work, group work, school observations, and specialist psychotherapeutic treatments.

The post is advertised as full-time, but job sharing is possible.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with complex patients, including traumatised younger children in the care system.

Person Specification
  • Successful completion of a post-graduate training in psychological practice
  • Eligibility for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body
Experience
  • Extensive experience of working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties
  • Experience of clinical supervision of post-graduate qualified psychological practitioners
